Affinity

The mapping that defines how scheduled processes are allocated to compute resources, such as cores, sockets, nodes, and accelerator hardware.

Machine Block

A homogeneous group of machines that have identical network configuration, core count, memory size, gpu type and count, disk features, and VM image.

Partition

A grouping of machine blocks that have common queuing restrictions, such as wall clock and resource limits. Machine blocks in the same partition are all deployed to the same GCP project.
